WEAR A FUCKING MASK

I live in New York City. I am well acquainted with the ravages of Covid. I have several physical aberrations which make me particularly vulnerable to Covid, and I am in a state of rage because hordes of hooligans, half wits and simian simpletons will not wear a mask.
My physical health might be precarious, and I might be sick, but I am not sickly. I am not a weak and whimpering weakling who submits to the arrogant depredations of shit heads who spit on my health by breathing in my face. My psyche is still driven by the impulses of my ribald and rowdy shit-kicking youth, and I want to explode.
I think these wanton, infection-spreading bastards deserve the whip of the withering Law. I say lock them up and let them infect each other.
STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR THE LUMPENPROLETARIAT
My reader may find my harshness inconsistent with the leftist inclinations expressed in certain parts of my site. However, most people don’t understand the differences between a liberal and a leftist, and they don’t remember what Karl Marx had to say about the lumpen proletariat.
(Before I go any further I should say that I am referring to the maskless who live near me. The maskless people in my environs are mostly poor and ragged. However, as I write this, I recall that outside of my city, plenty of fat and happy – and often pretending to be unhappy – people remain unmasked. Although this essay entertains, and ultimately rejects, excuses for the failure of the poor and ragged to wear a mask, there are no excuses which can be entertained for the failure of spoiled suburbanites to wear a mask.)
Marx explained that the lumpenproletariat consisted of those poor people who had become embittered, criminal swine. They were drug addicts, they beat their children and wives, and they stole from old people struggling to get home on a snowy evening. Marxists knew that they could not play a progressive, worthwhile role. True, the degradation and exploitation of poverty may have made them warped and wicked, but the causes of their sorry state would not suffice to exculpate their guilt.
As such Marxists are so unlike stereotypical, ladylike liberals who will soften the strictures of the penal code and make allowances for the depraved. These misguided liberals are among the prime forces which made Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan president and entombed the liberating currents of the Sixties. We see them once again in the guise of people who claim we should defund the police, a policy that is the offspring of whimsy and delusions of an Edenic tomorrow where there are no robbers, murderers or rapists and no police are needed. Marxists would never have alienated working class people as much as soft and silly ivy league liberals did.
CHRISTIAN FORGIVENESS CAN UNDERMINE JUSTICE
Arguably, the liberal inclination to forgive is derived from Christianity which lauds and supposedly stressed forgiveness. However, when we forgive evil, we are implicitly condoning it and inviting its recurrence because a crime that will be forgiven on Monday will, with the right measure of feigned sincerity, be forgiven again on Tuesday. Of course, every so often Christianity recoils from being Mr. Softy and displays a predilection for the rack and the auto da fe. Indeed,
Christianity is roiled by a dialectical conflict between Mother Mary and Torquemada and violently ricochets between two polar attitudes toward Crime and Punishment, between Robert Kennedy and George Wallace, between Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders, a Jew who, like Bob Dylan, sings the biblical prophecy, “The first one now shall later be last.”
The first one will never be last if that belligerent bastard who huff and puffs and blows viruses in everyone’s face is not held in check. Is not check mated.
However, the law is too lily livered to do anything. When the State of New York tried to curb the superpreading that transpired in religious assemblies, the Supreme Court shat on State authority by invoking religious freedom, more realistically termed delusional freedom. When the police tried to break up crowds of blacks who would not practice social distancing, the state was seen as racist.
IT’S TIME TO ROCK N ROLL
Perhaps the pro mask crowd should demonstrate that we can be just as aggressive and opinionated as our flat earth antagonists. Perhaps we should break up their gatherings, harass them, and engage in petty violence.
Why must the left always behave like the cartoon character, Tweety Bird, harassed by Sylvester the Cat?
Of course, some people will say that we should not sink to their level. However, by refraining from quasi violent political strife, we are, perhaps, showing that we do not have the courage of our convictions.
Arguably, radicals only get anything done when they shake things up and push the envelope in the direction of violence or at least petty violence. For example, people love to dismiss late Sixties radicalism as politically insignificant, but it actually stopped the war in Vietnam. The proof:
In the wake of the Tet Offensive of 1968, the Pentagon asked for the swift infusion of an additional 200,000 ground troops. However, for the first time, the Pentagon’s requests for more troops were denied by President Johnson, and they were denied by Johnson’s successor, Richard Nixon. Very simply, we stopped escalating the war because radical dissent had become so pronounced, and the risk of revolutionary uprisings so real, that continued escalation of the war was no longer feasible.
If we show the maskless that we are prepared to give them the black eyes they so rightfully deserve, perhaps they will learn to keep their toxic breath out of our face.
