THE STUPID THOUGHTS OF GREAT MEN
by

Certain figures in history are considered compassionate geniuses.
For example, most Americans revere Thomas Jefferson. They say he was great. They say this reflexively, without any thought.
Indeed I would bet my right testicle that not more than 20 percent of the American people have read Thomas Jefferson.
I read a little bit of Thomas Jefferson.
Among other things, he said: 1) Homosexuals should be castrated and 2) Blacks smell a lot because their renal functioning is impaired. He said that the kidneys of black people are not very effective at removing wastes from the body (Essentially urea, the prime constituent of urine) so some of their bodily wastes are excreted in their sweat. It didn’t occur to him that if Black people smelled it was because they were slaving all day in the hot Southern Sun and this generated a lot of sweating.
Jews revere Maimonides, viewing him as a great theologian and physician. Most Jewish people have never read his work. Thoughout my childhood I was told that he was great. He was so very, very smart. or so all the agents of indoctrination put it. I have read some of his stuff.
Among other things, he said:
1) One should not consume beverages and solid food at the same time. Drink your beverage before eating your meal or after eating your mail. Drinking and Eating at the same time is bad because, if I recall correctly, it confused the digestive organs. So after eating some very dry scones, and some chicken breast without an iota of fat or skin or juice, one cannot have a sip of seltzer until every last morsel of dusty dried food is somehow shoved down one’s throat. Really Brilliant.
2) Boys must be circumcised because the penis and manhood are essentially aggressive. To constrain aggressive virility, the penis should be marred so men will recognize the almost inherent maliciousness of manhood. [Meanwhile, Jewish woman are maddening shrews with Herculean abilities to depress and castrate. (That sentence was written a long time ago. Now I doubt that Jewish women are worse than gentile women.) Depression in Jewish men, in America, is twice the rate of depression for gentile men in America.]
In any event, many allegedly great men had very stupid ideas. However, so much of our education tells us to revere certain people without telling us why they should be revered.
The take away: The next time you hear an elder statesman of a “journalist,” a sappy middle brow program on educational television, or drama critics (a class of people whom Lillian Hellman mockingly referred to as “Broadway Intellectuals”) refer to someone as bright or great, don’t accept the BS. Grill them.
