The Botched Assassination: Is this Trump’s Reichstag Fire ?
Trump does not deserve sympathy as he is poised to use this as Hitler used the Reichstag fire, sews and spawns violence as his lips spew hate, and the GOP rejoiced when our heroes were slain

Shortly before RFK went into the black neighborhood where he made the immediately preceding speech, the police chief of Indianapolis warned him to stay away from black neighborhoods as black people were liable to attack him because MLK had just been shot. RFK said, “I can go into the black neighborhood with my family, and we can sleep on the streets, and I will be safe. And if you won’t be safe, that’s your problem.”

I really flipped my lid when I heard one of the moronic talking heads opine that Democrats have been quite kind to Trump and the Republicans in the wake of the alleged assassination attempt on Trump.
The Democrats have been kind. Too damn kind.
Remember How Republicans and Bigots Laughed When Our Heroes were Killed:
1) An ex-friend of mine, from Texas, told me that on the day JFK died, in her hometown, people celebrated Texas for the honor of having killed “that Goddamn Catholic,” John F. Kennedy.
2) One of Ronald Reagan’s daughters wrote that on the evening of the day John F Kennedy died, Ronald and Nancy Reagan decided to have a party.
3) At the 1964 Republican convention, Ronald Reagan decided to mock JFK, killed less than one year previously. He berated Kennedy for caring about Hungry Americans, saying that of course they were hungry; they were on a diet.
4) On November 22, 1993, exactly 30 years after JFK was killed, Jesse Helms, Republican Senator from North Carolina, said, in an ominous, jeering and menacing tone of voice, that President Bill Clinton would not be safe if he dared to travel in North Carolina.
5) While I was campaigning for George Mc Govern in the 1972 presidential primary in New York, I escorted Kathleen Kennedy, daughter of recently slain Senator Robert Kennedy, through Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. On the Southwest Corner of 86th Street and 5th Avenue, a brash bitch of a woman ran up to Kathleen Kennedy and screamed that her father deserved to die because he was a “nigger lover.”
If you are glad to be alive, get on your damn knees and thank G-d for giving us John and Bobby Kennedy. Shortly after the Berlin Wall fell, records. obtained from Russia, revealed that at the time John F Kennedy got photographic evidence of the installation of nuclear missiles in Cuba, many of the missiles were fully operational.
If JFK had listened to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and ordered a surprise first strike on the missiles, and if we did not destroy all of the missiles at the time of the first strike, one of the surviving nuclear weapons would have vaporized a United States city -- and within a couple of hours, more than 200 million people would have been incinerated to death. Bobby Kennedy had the sense to make a deal with Russia which averted thermonuclear Armageddon, and thank G-d JFK took Bobby’s advice. (And today, our shlocky, shitty, foul-mouthed media perpetually gives us grievous, gossipy stories to the effect that the Kennedys were just womanizers, pure and simple.)
By contrast, what does Trump know about foreign policy? What he saw in war movies on television and what Vladimir Putin and Victor Orban want him to “know.”
Trump and Associated Fascists Have Found their Reichstag Fire.
When Hitler became Chancelor of Germany, in 1933, he did not have absolute power. How did he get absolute power ? 1) His thugs burnt down the Reichstag; 2) He blamed the burning of the Reichstag on the Communists; 3) He said that he needed complete and untrammeled power to fight the Communists; and 4) Germany passed the “Enabling Act,” which gave Hitler absolute power. Four Easy Steps. It’s as easy as the US Supreme Court, with a dishonest recitation of the facts and a delusional interpretation of American jurisprudence, bludgeoning our democracy to death in Trump v. The United States (The case granting Trump sweeping immunity for criminal acts). This case was decided on July 1, 2024 and largely forgotten by the media by July 3, 2024. If we had any real sense of patriotism in this country, we would have spent July 4th hectoring and hammering the Supreme Court in massive rallies across the United States.
In any event, after the Reichstag Fire, Germany was whipped up into paroxysms of hate and hysteria, and Germany, as frothy as a rabid dog, became Hitler’s obedient German Shepard. Trump will whip up Americans into hysteria, and their hysteria will be channeled into the exaltation and deification of Trump and the liquidation of Trump’s opposition.
But in some ways Trump may be even more successful than Hitler in grasping the reins of power. The media will tell us that we need peace and understanding and reconciliation, yada, yada, yada, and the only ones who will be in favor of playing nice will be the woosie, wearisome Democrats who will roll over and play dead.
Did Law Enforcement Play the Role of Jack Ruby
After Oswald was arrested, he was interrogated. The men who interrogated him said that they took no notes of the interrogation and that the interrogation was not recorded. (They had but one objective: Claiming that Oswald acted alone.) Oswald, however, had told the Press, who communicated with him as officers moved him around Dallas police headquarters, that he, Oswald, was a Patsy. Was Oswald ready to tell us something which would have implicated other parties in the death of the President ?
We’ll never know because Jack Ruby, who most improbably got into the police station and within a few feet of Oswald, shot and killed Oswald.
The guy who shot Trump is dead. Supposedly, law enforcement killed him. It would have been preferable to take him alive so he could have been questioned. Of course, if he was firing at officers, they had no choice but to kill him. But might they have shot him in the legs. I have not heard any news reports re the specifics of the shooting. I suppose that in a few days, after the American public starts to weary of this story and begins to turn its peripatetic gaze to tales of the bikinis stars are wearing this summer, law enforcement will concoct a cover story to benumb, becloud and bewilder the closing and shrinking American mind.
Since I wrote the immediately preceding paragraph, more “information” has come in, and this “data” indicates that stopping the shooter may have necessitated killing him. But given the propensity of so many politicos to lie, and given Trump’s tyrannical insistence that people accept his lie that the 2020 election had been stolen from him, one must be an epistemologist before one may decide whether something is true or false. (Epistemology is the study of distinguishing fact from fiction.)
How Trump May Use the Assassination attempt in a Manner Reminiscent of Christian Use the death of Jesus to Foment anti Semitism.
This is Christmas Day and New Years Eve rolled into one for the diabolical Donald. Trump will make speeches saying that we need peace and reconciliation, and his purported spirit of forgiveness will prompt his supporters to believe he is too philanthropic and forgiving, and they will become more vociferous and vehement and inclined to assist him in installing fascist rule. It’s the same damn thing that happened to the Jews on Easter: The priest will say that we must forgive the venomous Jews for killing Christ. The Christian peasants (Most Christians thought like peasants, whether they were tenant farmers or Empress Maria Theresa of Austria who evicted all the Jews from Vienna.) will reason that their Church is being just too good, will become doubly enraged at the Jews because of the Church’s alleged liberalism, and will start a customary Easter pogrom.
You shall reap what you have sewn.
The Trumpers are the biggest avatars of violence in America today. I don’t care how crass I sound: The Trumpers asked for this shooting, and I’ll say what Roosevelt said of Germany when America gained air superiority in 1943 and was poised to turn Germany’s cities into endless vistas of rubble and rats. “They asked for it.”
I am amazed to see so many big, strong Nietzschean, Nazified Trump bullies get so teary-eyed and frightened from a few gun shots. (Trump looked like he got hit by a bee bee gun or one of those projectiles, made with straws, that we played with in the third grade) After he was “hit,” he swatted his face in the same manner we might swat our face if we had been bitten by a mosquito or tickled by a gnat.
Can’t they take even a small portion of what they dish out.
Remember: 1) When protestors came to his 2016 campaign rallies, Trump said they should be beaten and sent to the hospital; 2) Under his administration, undocumented Mexican immigrants were separated from their 5 year old children; 3) One of his Ex-wives testified that he kept a copy of Hitler’s Mein Kampf on his nightstand; 4) He said that even if he shot and killed people at random on 5 th Avenue, his supporters would still love him; 5) When he met with Putin, he would not let his Aides take notes of the meeting; 6) He stole privileged documents, containing state secrets, from the White House and moved them to Maro Lago; 7) He consorts with Nazi apologists; 8) His psychopathic comrade in conspiring against America, Rudolf the Red-Nosed Guiliani (he drinks so much his nose is getting discolored) exhorted the Trump rioters, on January 6, to give us “trial by combat.”
I feel about this shooting the way I felt about Reagan’s. Reagan survived, whereas Jack, Bobby, Martin and John Lennon died.
Talking About Peace and Reconciliation between Democrats and Republicans is like Saying they won a ball game, 10 to 2, at the bottom of the 6th inning and scrapping the remaining 3 innings.
This is no time for Democrats to get lovey-dovey and nauseatingly bi partisan with republicans. In part, this is because the GOP has robbed us blind.
I would like to explain how the Democratic position, and the peoples’ rights and liberties, have been constricted, restricted and in large measure renounced by the Supreme Court, but that will bore 95 percent of the populace who are interested in only one issue that has become before the Court, abortion. Of course, reproductive freedom is a vital issue, but there are plenty of issues just as terrifying. Read Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s dissent in Trump v United States (The case on presidential immunity) and read the opinion of the reactionary majority.
It is sparkling clear that as Justice Sotomayor said, the Supreme Court has endorsed a legal regime which holds that the President can kill a political opponent and get away with it. If he orders someone in the military to do it, it will be deemed an official act. According to the Supreme Court’s July 1 decision, we are not allowed to assess his motivation in ordering the killing of a political opponent. According to the Court’s decision, any time the President commits an official act, his commission of that act is presumptively immune from prosecution. See my last substack article for a fuller discussion of the Court’s despicable decision on presidential immunity.
In any event, this is no time to call a truce or a cease fire. Given the aforementioned sick decision of the Court, if Trump wins, he can proceed to neutralize his political opponents. And don’t you think that’s just what he’s dying to do. Why else is he so buddy-buddy with guys like Puke-inducing Putin who kills hia opponents.
If that last line sounds too “third graderish” for your refined sensibilities, let us remember people who made us fall “in love with night and pay no worship to the garish sun.”
