New Dispatches on the Media Distortion of the Battle Between Ukraine and Russia
New Dispatches on the Media Distortion of the Battle Between Ukraine and Russia

This song isn’t directly relevant to the ideas conveyed in this report, but it exhibits the tenacity, gravity and stark beauty of Russia. Besides, it’s a beautiful song.
America’s fortunes have apparently revived in the past few days as Russia has encountered stiffer resistance in Ukraine than anticipated.
But make no mistake about where America is heading. Alexander Vindman (The Democratic Party’s favorite Ukrainian talking head who, without fail, can always be depended upon to the slander Russia and heap hosanas on Ukraine) can gloat all he wants, but American preeminence will peter out just as certainly as Joe Biden’s weary body increasingly longs for its final resting place. (I do not want him to die. I simply express my honest view that Biden, like many old people, look upon death as a welcome rest)
The news flashes of today have scant predictive value. Just as George Bush had an approval rating of 91 percent in January 91, immediately after Gulf War One, but garnered only 38 percent of the vote in November 1992, there is no telling where Biden is going.
As for the present battle, my hopes for Russia are revived whenever I see a picture of Alexander Vindman. Altthough Vindman can often be counted on to appear in macho, military drag as he dashingly served in many desk jobs in the Pentagon, he has more pre-pubescent baby fat on him than I did when I was 13. Men like Vindman can project an aura of confidence and swagger while protected in a CBS studio, but that swagger may very well dissolve on the battlefield
ABOUT UKRAINE AND THE JEWS
The New York Times of February 27 advised us that Ukraine’s President, Zelensky, was Jewish. As a Jew, I am sick and tired of my faith being brought up whenever Jewishness is in any way related to an issue, but the Times, presumably, has, as one of its prime missions, amassing liberal support for Ukraine, and they can’t pass up the opportunity to state that Zelensky is Jewish as such an irrelevant comment might curry Jewish support for Ukraine.
The Times then proceeded to gently bash Israel for being neutral re the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
The Times seemed to posit the very backward and arguably bigoted belief that Israel must support a state simply because its leader is Jewish. This is tantamount to claiming that a black man in America was required to be loyal to Idi Amin, the former leader of Uganda, and self-confessed cannibal, because Idi Amin was black.
What’s more, the attitude of Ukrainians toward Zelensky, because he is Jewish, may be a big part of the problem. The Times fleetingly alluded to the presence, in Kiev, of a contingent of fascistic, ultra nationalist Ukrainians who have been consistently anti semitic. It is entirely likely that these Ukrainians have pressured and badgered Zelensky to assume a hard line against Russia. (As I have said in prior posts, if Zelensky had agreed not to join NATO, this war could have been avoided. About one week before the war started, Zelensky said that America should calm down, alleging that the risk of war could be defused.)
The Americna media can do all it wants to pretend that the Ukrainians are angels of mercy and that Russia is a land of Hitlers, but the testimony of people I have known matter more to me. They have told me, and historical accounts state, that in World War Two, Russia evacuated Jews to the East as German panzer divisions advanced. By contrast, Ukrainians helped the Germans hunt down, shoot, gas and incinerate the Jews.
THE UNITED STATES HAS NO RIGHT TO CRITICIZE RUSSIA FOR UKRAINIAN CASUALTIES
About 400 Ukrainians have been killed so far. Do you think this estimate is low. Fine, then for the purpose of argument let’s provisionally agree that 5,000 Ukrainians have been killed so far.
I don’t want to sound crass or heartless, but compared to American aggression, the number of dead Ukrainians is Chicken feed.
America killed close to one million Indochinese people during the Vietnam War. Vietnam was 10,000 miles from California and never threatened America or could threaten America.
By contrast, Ukraine is adjacent to Russia. Ukraine has refused to decline membership in Nato. For all the reasons stated in my preceding articles on substack, this makes Ukraine a clear and present danger to Russia. Nato was formed to counter alleged Soviet aggression. Since the Soviet Union fell, there was no reason for Nato’s continued existence, but its existence was perpetuated to provoke or endanger Russia. In fact, since the Soviet Union fell, NATO has advanced about 1000 miles to the East. In the course of expanding, Nato has enlisted several European states who were allies in Hitler and assisted Hitler in killing 20 million Russians.
