New Arguments for a Reduction in Immigration to the United States: Part Two
WHY IS IT CONSIDERED NOBLE TO DESERT ONE’S BROTHERS?

I have never understood the American, masochistic veneration of the immigrant. Among other things, immigrants are praised because they left a land besieged by persecution, tyranny and woe and came here to benefit their families. What, in G-d’s name, is so special about that. Some people might have stayed in their backward countries and tried to make them better. Some people might have thought it might be wise and brave to reform their nations or if that was impossible to fight for revolution.
But our immigrants came to America to help themselves – and they abandoned their brothers in Europe, and now they are abandoning their brothers in other parts of the globe. What is so magnificent about that. I would laud the man who wants to help his brothers, not the selfish immigrant who abandoned his miserable country to amass money for himself. We are also told that Immigrants want to help their children. What, in G-d’s name, is so special about that. Americans have joined the Peace Corp to help other people’s children for decades. Why should we love people who love themselves and come to America to grab the bucks. I would rather love the people who because of guilt or neurosis or rejection don’t love themselves.
Of course, many of our immigrants could not have stayed in their lands of origin. There is no way that the Jews could have taken on the German Army (However, some Jews tried and, of course, died doing so. I refer you to, among other things, the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, The Bialystok ghetto (A high proportion of Jews there had Red Army affiliations and although they were starving, they fought like Soviet Swords) and Sobibor. Nor would it have been feasible for the starving Irishman of the potato famine to wrest some crumbs of bread from the Brits. (Some Brits would give an Irishman food if he renounced Catholicism and converted to the Church of England. Queen Victoria, who uneducational public television is constantly romanticizing with insipid, brain dead “documentaries” and dramas, thought she was an icon of philanthropy because she gave 5 pounds toward famine relief in Ireland.)
But I think some of our German immigrants could have tried to make a go of it in Germany. Germany had not been overrun by an alien occupying force. Germans, of course, were not a minority in Germany. However, in the 19th Century, the flood gates opened up for German immigrants. Many German immigrants, such as Donald Trump’s ancestors, came here primarily to take our money. Likewise, although the Italians of Southern Italy were desperately poor after the modern Italian state was created (Before modern Italy was created, much of the land in Southern Italy and Sicily was controlled by the Church. The Pope did not make the peasants of Southern Italy pay more than a nominal rental fee or no rental fee. With the creation of the modern Italian State, much of this land was given to Landlords in Northern Italy and these landlords did charge rent. Consequently, Southern Italy and Sicily became desperately poor. ) Southern Italy was poor, but their suffering had been caused by their fellow Italians and did not begin to approach the savagery endured by the Irish or the Jews. The Jews of course suffered innumerable persecutions in addition to the Holocaust, such as blood libel killings (for centuries Jews were killed because of the gentile delusion that Jews used the blood of Christian children to make matzoh), pogroms, and revenge killings prompted by the fantasy that darker Jewish men had the hots for blonde Christian girls and screwed them, committing the “crime” of “racial pollution.”
