If Biden Bores You, Watch a Crime Thriller, but Don’t Vote for Trump
Trump is popular because he fuses the Hostility of Don Rickles with the Bitchy, Bitterness of Joan Rivers – but good entertainers seldom make good statesmen.

Although I never liked Biden, we should not vote for presidential candidates because they are pleasing to the palate, like a sweet and genial ice cream. Fuck the bullshit about personability, charm, cuteness, and other la di dah nothings. The issues are what matters. Unfortunately, Americans are like little kiddies, and they want to be entertained all the time. They were taught to read via Sesame Sweet unctuousness, and they want inane sweetness, or big bad wolves like Trump, all the time.
When I listen to Democrats blather on about Biden, I hear a discordant, incoherent chorus of griping, picky, annoying people who resemble middle aged matrons who are so discombobulated by the wrinkles on their face that the high point of their day is harassing the good-looking waitress getting big tips from the guys. Democrats have failed to articulate a good reason to dump Biden. In fact, what we are witnessing from Democrats is nothing but habitual Democratic masochism.
I just read an article in The Free Press entitled “Biden Makes It All About Trump. Will That Be Enough?” The article said that Biden’s image and campaign were anemic, lackluster, and about as exciting as the doddering old man that Biden was. The article quoted people who said that the Democrats might choose someone else to be their presidential nominee and quoted, rather favorably, one wonk who said that Biden could be overthrown just as Lyndon Johnson was overthrown.
The idea that Biden could be overthrown ala Johnson is sort of like saying John might get appendicitis because sometimes people get appendicitis. There is nothing comparable between Biden and Lyndon Johnson.
Lyndon Johnson had enraged people because of his Vietnam policies. And Lyndon Johnson had a very formidable opponent in the person of the late great Robert Kennedy and a very dedicated, brainy and blustering opponent in the person of Eugene Mc Carthy. Who is opposing Biden with ideas, arguments, elan or energy. Nothing and no one.
And while Lyndon Johnson’s Vietnam policy was morally bankrupt, Biden has many commendable features. Before he was elected, I approached him with trepidation because on numerous occasions I thought he was far too willing to kowtow to Republican tyranny. However, Biden has been a president for the working class. He joined the UAW picket line. Never before in American history has an American President participated in a strike on the side of labor.
Also, Biden has done a very powerful job of soldering the continent of Europe to the West visa vis Ukraine and its attendant problems. Formerly neutral Sweeden, and Finland which had often tilted into Moscow’s orbit, are now solidly Western. The Germans and the French, who had neutralist inklings for at least as bar back as the 1960’s, are totally on board with the United States. Most of the old states between Moscow and Berlin – which had for years been under Moscow’s domination via the Warsaw Pact – are in NATO and on our side.
In short, Biden has boosted American prestige and political power without shedding the blood of a single American soldier. However, the dullards that comprise the stupefied and silly American electorate are too intellectually backward to notice this.
For example, within the past couple of days, Biden went to a black church and was heckled, and not allowed to speak, by malcontents who screamed and shouted for Palestine. If black people want to stay home and let Trump -- a man who spat on the very just black demand that cops stop slaughtering black men – take the White House, they are just being as stupid as white racists said they were.
