Some time ago, I read that Yasir Arafat’s wife lived in Paris while Yasir lived in the Mideast. (Yasir died quite a while ago,.) This immediately reminded me of the situation comedy “Green Acres,” a big hit among elementary school children in the Sixties. In Green Acres, a New York lawyer moves to a ramshackle farmhouse because he wants to get back to the land and pursue a wholesome occupation, farming. His wife, played by Eva Gabor, is resolutely in love with the delights and dainty pleasures of her manicured, Manhattan life.
..
To be sung to the tune of the theme song of the situation comedy “Green Acres”:
..
..
Suha Arafat sings:
..
I want to live in Paris, France
I need to go to every dance
I am a woman oh so chic
Marvel at my Arab-French mystique
..
Yasir Arafat sings:
..
I wage war in the Wild West
At mayhem, I‘m the very best
I’m king of all the terrorists
Keep Paris and its polemicists
..
Suha Arafat:
..
I hate Islamic laws on food
They put me in a foul mood
I want to eat some crème brulee
Don fine minks and waltz and sashay
..
Yasir Arafat:
..
Oh Suha, I do understand
You require a decadent land
Something apt for a stately queen
Living rich and really quite obscene
..
Suha Arafat:
..
Send me money, Hubbie Arafat
Big fat checks that show some tact
I must indulge in luxury
Being a bitch is my destiny
..
The shows
The blows
..
Jihad
Pernod
..
Yasir sings:
..
You are my wife
Suha sings:
..
Goodbye Paris life
..
They both sing:
Ramallah we are here
..
